The Art and Science of Herbert Martin - A Brief Biography

University Awards and Activities: B.S and M.S. degrees, Jesse Stuart writing scholarship, University Choir, Sports Editor and Columnist - University Paper.

Professional Activities: Designer/Illustrator - A. Epstein & Sons, Keck & Keck, and Fitch, LaRocca, Carrington, Jones - three award winning Architectural rms in Chicago, Illinois. Associate Professor/Instructor - Tilghman Vo-Tec, Kentucky State University, and West Kentucky Community and Technical College. Curriculum Specialist - University of Kentucky. Former Majority Owner - Anderson Court Associates Architectural Firm.

Professional and Personal Awards: Commonwealth of Kentucky Excellence in Education. West Kentucky Technical College teacher of the Year. NAACP Contributions to Education Award. West Kentucky Community and Technical College African American Legacy Award.

Publishing Activies: Wrote, illustrated, and published three books for children - In The Garden, Catch A Falling Leaf, and Egbert the Acrophobic Eagle. Currently, a book co-written with noted children's author, Patricia McKissack, The Horrors and Heroics of Freedom, is scheduled to be published by Simon and Schuster in 2019.
